Throughout his life, Olaf Krassnitzky pursued an interest in the arts, in particular in painting. Upon nearing retirement age, he has focused more and more on his art work. He became particularly interested in producing oil paint-like effects with the use of hard pastel crayons. His art encompases expressive realist themes, and also uses this technique in symbolic art. There, the artist is trying to find bridges between the natural and social sciences, on one hand, and the arts on the other.

Olaf Krassnitzky's work investigates the nuances of evolution through the use of  motion and color which emphasize the Symbiotic nature of modern ideas transcending ancient virtues. Krassnitzky explores abstract and ecological scenery as motifs to describe the idea of infinite reality. Using technological loops, non-linear narratives, and interactive images as patterns, Krassnitzky creates meditative environments which suggest the expansion of art....
